On a busy street in Porto Alegre, the capital of the most southern Brazilian state, lies the residential and commercial complex of stacked gardens, the Glow Building. The project was created with the objective of tighting the contact between nature and people living in a urban environment. Bringing awereness and concern for THE ecosystem, a matter that we are still lacking in our society.
The project seeks to minimize energy expenditure by proposing ventilated facades and cross ventilation in all apartments, in addition, the open-plan concept adds flexibility to the spaces, generating greater possibilities for different demands in the present and extending the usage time. At the base of the building is a shopping center that adds on the value of the space by creating different activities and attractions for both a potential resident and a passers-by.
The Grow building was born as an architectural manifesto by exploring the landscape and the environment to the fullest, bringing it into our lives and making nature a protagonist.
The project was developed in ArchiCad 23, rendered in Twinmotion and Lumion, and Abobe Illustrator for the development of diagrams.
