What is our vision of urban future in cities? How do we ensure a sustainable development for the coming generations? Re.create project has the aim of giving an answer to these questions.
The idea of the re.create building was to develop a holistic approach that, apart from architectural design, also includes life cycle assessment, integration of renewable energies and local materials.
On a social level, people are placed in the center. In order to counteract the constant pressure of our time and the resulting health consequences, the re.create concept takes care of the physical, mental and social well-being. For that, the so-called recreation areas were planned. They combine the different dynamics of the building and promote community, exchange and cooperation between three different uses (office, university and student apartments).
From the ecological perspective, nature is in the focus. To counteract the increasing environmental pollution and resource scarcity, the guiding principle here was the regeneration of heat, energy and material sources while using local potential.
From an economic point of view, the building’s construction with prefabricated modules, as a symbol of robust and flexible construction, can guarantee long lifetimes as well as the possibility of deconstruction.
Re.create proves that the three pillars of sustainability are equally necessary to create a stable building and that it is possible to combine all of these approaches. Re.create is a concept that focuses on the well-being of people and nature. Re.create is the future. A sustainable future.
